Mr. George B. Dorr,
The University Club,
Fifth Ave. & 54th St.,
New York City.
Dear Mr. Dorr:
You will remember George W. Newman save all his property
to Alice Rodick by will. The will has now been allowed.
Some
of the property must be disposed of for the purpose of paying
bills. Mrs. Rodick plans on keeping the farm, but wishes to
sell the wood lot, the lot west of Eagle Lake adjoining the
Reservation lands, the lot you have called my attention to.
David Rodick now represents Mrs. Rodick. He tells me that
they must raise be tween $3500 and $4000. He wants to know
whother you would consider its purchase. What he wants is
$5000 for the lot with the right to take off practically all
the growth, leaving sufficient trees for seed trees and he
also wants to reserve the loom on about twenty acres. the lot
being a two hundred acres lot.
I have not examined the lot, therefore I do not know
what it iss worth.
I understand a petition has been presented to the Court
asking for a license to sell this lot and I assume something
must be done soon.
If you are to be back before long I might get them to
wait until you are here so that we could examine the lot and
discuss the matter.
L/M
Yours truly,
