Know all Men by these Presents,
That William L.Butler of Tremont in the County of Hancock and
Sate of Maine,
one dollar and other valuable consideratcions
in consideration of
paid by Schuyler R. Clark of Southwest Harbor in said County and State.
the receipt whereof I
do hereby acknowledge, do hereby give, grant, bargain, sell and convey
unto the said
Schuyler R. Clark and his
heirs and assigns forever, a certain lot or parcel of land situated in said Tremont and
bounded and described as follows to wit; - being a part of lot no 8,
beginning in the northern line of Henry Robbin's lot, twenty rods
from the pond and running South eighty seven degrees East sixty-
four rods to the land of the late Pearl S. Robbins; thence follow-
ing land of said Robbin's and land belonging to James A.Gray, formerly
Thurlow Dow lot Weefforth three degrees East sixty three and three
fourths rods to land formerly occupied by the late William H.
Clinkard; thence following said Clinkard's line North eighty seven
degrees West seventy three rods to an angle in said Clinkard's line;
thence South th two degrees East thirty five rods to another
angle; thence South nineteen degrees West thirty four rods to the
first mentioned bound, and containing twenty five acres and forty-
eight square rod more or less.
This conveyance is of less value than one hundred dollars.
In have and to Gold the aforegranted and bargained premises, with all the privileges and appurte-
nances thereof, to the said Schuyler R.Clark and his
heirs and assigns, to his and their use and behoof forever.
And
I
do covenant with the said grantee his
heirs and assigns, that

lawfully
seized in fee of the premises ; that they are free of all incumbrances ;
that
I
have good right to sell and convey the same to the said grantee to hold as aforesaid ; and
that
I
and
my
heirs, shall and will warrant and defend the same to the said grantee ,
his
heirs and assigns forever, against the lawful claims and demands of all persons

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, that I, Clarence E. Dow of Eden,
County of Hancock, State of Maine, in consi deration of one dollar and
other valuable considerations paid by William L. Butler, of Tremont,
County of Hancock, State of Maine, the receipt whereof I do hereby
acknowledge, do hereby Give, Grant, Bargain, Sell and Convey unto the
said William I. Butler, his Heirs and Assigns forever a certain lot or
parcel of land, situated in Tremont aforesaid; bounded and described as
follows, to wit:-
A woodlot, situated in said Tremont on the Eastern side of Seal
Cove Pond, being a part of Lot No. 8 of a plan of Mount Desert made by
Salen Town, Jr., A. D. 1308, beginning in northern line of Henry Robbins
lot twenty rods from the Pond and running S.870 E. 64 rods to land of
late P. S. Robbins; thence following land of said Robbins and land of
late Thurlow Dow N. 3° E. 634 rods to land occupied by late W. H.
Clinkard; thence following said Clinkard's line N. 87° W. 73 rods to
an angle in said Clinkard's line; then S. 32° E. 35 rode to another
angle; thence S. 19° W. 34 rods to the first named bound; containing
twenty five acres and forty eight square rods, more or less.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the aforegranted and bargained premises, with
all the privileges and appurtenances thereof, to the said William L.
Butler, his Heirs and Assigns, to his and their use and behoof forever.
And I do covenant with the said Grantee, his Heirs and Assigns,
that I am lawfully seized in fee of the premises; that they are free
of all imcumbrances; that I have a good right to sell and convey the
same to the said William L. Butler to hold as aforesaid; and that I
and my heirs shall and will warrant and defend the same to the said
William L. Butler, his Heirs and Assigns forever against the lawful
claims and demands of all persons.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I, the said Clarence E. Dow, and I, Mable
M. Dow, wife of the said Clarence E. Dow, joining in this deed as
Grantor, and relinquishing and conveying right by descent and all
other rights in the above described premises, have hereunto set our
hands and seals this eighteenth day of December, in the year of our
Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.
