Anthony Douin forwarded your email to me to answer. The Archives does not
have a copy of the film that you are enquiring about. I have checked our
Member Information
records from the Maine Development Commission, as well as the Executive
Ron Archives (31)
Council, and do not find any mention of it in the 1933 to 1935 time period. You
could try contacting Northeast Historic Films in Bucksport and see if a copy of
that film has been given to them.

Dear Mr. Douin:
Horseshoe Pond
Member Information
Earle Shettleworth (see below) suggested that I contact you regarding my
inquiry concerning a film funded by the Maine Development Commission in
Ron Archives (31)
1934. I'd appreciate any information that you could provide. If it is extant and
can be viewed I would make the trip to Augusta for that purpose.

Dear Ron,
I have never run across this film, but I would suggest checking with the
Maine State Archives here in Augusta. It is possible that it would have
been saved with the files of the Maine Development Commission,
which was a state agency.
Sincerely,
Earle Shettleworth

Dear Earle,
As I near completion of the biography of George B. Dorr, I'm filling in
some gaps and wondered whether your holdings would contain a
copy--or information on--a film that was described in the July 18, 1934
issue of the Bar Harbor Times. Shopwn July 22, 1934 at the
Criterion in Bar Harbor, the title of the film is nowhere named but is
described as such:made under the auspices of the MDI Biological
Laboratory (no, they don't have a copy), the Maine Development
Commission, and the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce; filkmed by
Norman McClintock the two thousand foot long film shows the scenic
and topographical features of the island and after showing was turned
over to the Maine Development Commission.
I don't expect that this public relations product has survived the
decades but couldn't avoid asking.
Cordially,
Ron Epp
