PAGE SEVENTEEN Southington News DORIS McSORLEY ACTING HEAD OF GRAMMAR SCHOOL Southington, Jan. 14.-Mrs. Doris McSorley of Oak Street, teacher in the seventh grade at Plantsville School, has been named acting principal to succeed Leo Garrepy, principal, who was recently in- ducted into the army, according to an announcement by Mrs. Grace L. Merrell, secretary of the board of education. The resignation of Miss Helen M. Dunn of North Main Street, a teacher in the Beecher Street School, has been received and ac- cepted by the Board of Education. She is resigning because of ill health. The board has voted to award the boiler insurance contract to the William J. Hurley Insurance Agency, low bidder. The Board of Education has re- ceived a request from the South- ington Teachers Club requesting 15 per cent cost of living adjustment in salaries.
