Wildlife Crossings on Maine's Interstate 95
This project examines the impacts of road infrastructure on wildlife populations along Maine’s Interstate 95, focusing on habitat fragmentation, roadkill, and barriers to wildlife movement. Using GIS methodology, the project analyzes potential sites for wildlife crossings to reduce vehicle–wildlife collisions and improve habitat connectivity. The analysis highlights how thoughtfully designed crossings can mitigate the ecological consequences of roads while maintaining transportation efficiency. This project is in ESRI GIS Story Map format.
