Letter to FLAG Members from Katherine Keough, December 5, 1980
This letter informs FLAG members that under the Hostage Relief Act of 1980 there are certain tax benefits given to hostages and their families. Exemption on taxes on hostage's income for the duration of their captivity. Families who have already filed taxes will need to file an amendment, enclosed is Form 1040X along with instructions. If they have questions or problems completing the form to contact the IRS office near them.
