Essay- A Citizen is Missing by Linda Gideon

An essay written by Linda Gideon about a corner lot in a picturesque neighborhood of Balch Springs, Texas. She describes the faded American flag and the faded yellow ribbons around the oak tree in the yard. The yard is that of Johnny and Wynona McKeel, Sr. whos son Johnny is being held hostage in Iran. The faded flag and ribbon are symbolic of the injustices being done to their son in Iran. They hope to be able to take the fag and ribbon down soon.
