Oct 19 Dear Mike A Homecoming letter! For the first time in many months l really feel hopeful. Prime Minister Rajai is at the UN and is [[?]] that the decision or your release is near. l went to church this morning and prayed hard. When you get back you'll be very pleased with the way everyone is here. It's been a tough year, but everyone has risen to the challenges and you'll be so proud of them. Louisa has done the most extraordinary job. She talked to world leaders, [[?]] or television countless times, organized the families etc, but still retains her warmth, her fantastic friendships, her sense of humor, Mark is doing beautifully. He's back in our world with a sense of how to communicate with different people and who will be interested in what I'm sure Mom has written for about his concerts. I doubt if his life will be conventional (Thank God!) but I'm sure now that Page 2 he'll be able to make his own way and bring a great deal of happiness to himself and others. The other three have gone on fulfilling their responsibilities working hard and keeping cheerful. They all gave Mom & Pop the most wonderful summer. Mum is the most amazing. She hasn't had one drop and I really don't think has been tempted to. She's been determined to be the way she'd want you to think of her. Pop is cheerful and fine too In other words, don't worry about anyone. We are all aware that it's going to be a tremendous adjustment for you coming out and back to civilization. I can remember how strange it was to come home after 3 weeks in a hospital. Have you been able to find out what's going on in the world? Mom, Pop have kept all news clippings for for and had Miss Myler come in and organize then. Do you remember how she adores Pop? We Storeys are fine. Pete. Kathe were Page 3 in New York last week while be looked for a summer job. This will be his last summer before graduation, so he wants a job in a low [[?]] if possible. I went up for the weekend, with the four of them. Pete, Kathe took us to dinner in Greenwich Village and the Deck & Deana to lunch in Chinatown. Good courage. D & D are getting more used to the idea of the baby, and she has give up any thought of having it in Taiwan, luckily we will probably have to bring over Mr. & Mrs. Mei next summer. My father-in-law, I'm afraid is dying. He had a stroke last week and the damage is continuing There had been several small ones in the past and there not much left. The boys were summoned on Friday.
