The boys have been thoroughly frustrated in their ski plans. Now, perhaps, things will start to break for them. Duncan and a friend from school will arrive here on Jan 31 for the winter week-end. His friend's parents live in England, l gather - I am cross that it has to be that week-end, actually, as I wanted to join Lois +Joe in New York for an Aspen Institute Symposium Friday + Sat. Don't see how I can manage to be in 2 places at once. This seems to be The guide lines of my life at the moment. At least I am not really traveling for the moment. Flying to Paris for 3 days and then within the same week flying to Florida for 4 days left me wilting! I feel I have seen every friend we have ever known in the last 20 years ! Exhausting but fascinating. I am having dinner next week with Jerry + Maria in Alexandria , VA. How many times have we seen them in the last 10 years? And so it goes. Mum + Pop are fine. Another reason I would like to go to N.Y. is to spend time with then. We talk by phone a lot. The bills must be astronomical. Thank heaven I can instigate a lot myself from the office on the open line. Sandy is visiting The U.S. in mid-February. I'm Thrilled. We saw him so briefly last summer in Boston. I'm glad you have heard from him. I saw Lynn + Robin over Christmas The Lloyds save a party one night for them and asked all the young, too. The evening climaxed with a private showing (at the Motion Picture Association) of "The Black Stallion" which is a marvelous film - only about 20 sentences of dialogue in The 1st half and the rest is fabulous photography.
