Dear Mrs. Kennedy, I saw you today on ABC-TV News with Ms. Walter, and just now on America Held Hostage, Day 39. Of all the relatives of hostages shown so for, I think you have exhibited the most grace and courage A am proud of you and for your husband. Had he seen you, he would have been even prouder, because what man would want his wife to behave any less in his chosen profession, and an his personal suitability for it? The State Department can be grateful for your example. Your attitude is not only an inspiration to the traumatized loved ones of other hostage but to all of as who look on in helpless [[sic]], but building rage. Unlike to many other efforts of the United States in the past, this one will not go unanswered. and you are right. no matter what happens, as a nation we will go on, free....proud....and united.
