"McFarland Hill Delta is a geological feature that was formed by a glacial meltwater stream about 21,000 years ago. The stream carried sand and gravel from the retreating Laurentide ice sheet and deposited them into the sea, creating a flat-topped delta that rose to the surface. The delta is now exposed as a hill that offers scenic views of the surrounding landscape" ("McFarland Hill Delta, Ellsworth" at Birding Hostspots ( https://birdinghotspots.org/hotspot/L1217305 : accessed 10 October 2025]).
