July 24,1980 Dear Louisa, I write simply to say hello and to say how much 2 regret that this has gone on such an incredibly long time. But I write also it to say that I am as confident as ever his that will end with honor for Mike and all his colleagues. We have long since ceased grasping at straws, so I will male no prediction that doesn't lessen a sense of optimism I feel We have heard your voice on VOA occasionally, Louisa, complement you on the role you are playing We know - or think we know - how hard this for the families. God how I wish I had something to offer But perhaps Richard Queen has done that, better than anything anyone else can do or say. Certainly his performance demonstrates the strength of the human spirit in the face of the most trying adversities. We can all be proud of him- and of all his colleagues that be represents so well.
