FEB 16 1980 Dear Mrs. Kennedy, It is most sincerely hoped that this letter will find its way into your hands for I had not other way of addressing it other than the way I have. Fist and most important reason for this letter is to tell you that our thoughts prayers are with you and your husband at this time and that we know he will be returned to you safely and in the very near future. We have seen you on television several times and applaud your strength and your help to others in the work you are doing at the State Department. (I am enclosing a copy of a newspaper article you might like to have. It was sent to me by my cousin in Kansas.) The second reason for this letter is to say that I believe your husband "Mike" and I are cousins. The reason I say this is because of his first name Moorehead [sic]. I had a cousin Moorehead [sic] C. Kennedy who was President of the Cumberland Valley Railroad and later Vice President of the Pennsylvania Railroad when they acquired the CVRR. He had a lovely home in Chambersburg, Pa called "Ragged Edge." It is my thought that perhaps your husband might be his Grandson. I would dearly like to know if this is true. When your husband is safely retuned to you I am sure you and he will be taking a well deserved leave. If your plans call for a trip South please give us a call for we would enjoy having you visit with us. It is lonely and very peaceful here on Hilton Head Island and would I am sure do you both a world of good.
