Summer Field Studies programs began.

Summer Field Studies, a day camp for 4th, 5th and 6th graders, began in May of 1985. This program, founded by alum Vicki Nichols ‘84, allows young kids to experience an explorative and playful interaction with Mount Desert Island’s ecology, passing COAs ideals of experiential and problem based learning on to a younger generation.
