Dear Sir:- Your telegram and letter of 26th ult. have been re- ceived. I am willing to accept the bid of $3,325. on the amended specifications. There are a couple of small changes which Mrs. Guthrie wants made, however. When I wrote to you from Coburg I told you that she wanted the window in the den marked "B" put in the place where the present door is, and the book case on the east side of the den omitted. . After consideration she prefers to have the win dow placed where it is shown on the plans (as she thinks it will make the room more symmetrical), and the book case put in on the east side of the room and that on the west side omitted. She wants the paint on all the inside wood work in all the rooms ( including the butler's pantry), except the kitchen, to be white; the kitchen may be yellow. We have concluded to have the outside of the whole house white, except the shutters and the doors which will be green. Will it require, to do this, to have more than one coat on the old part of the house, which is at present yellow? If so, please have an estimate made on that and let me know. -1-
