Metal tips on each end. Hinge opens and clasp hold spindle inside case. Spindle lifts off iron peg. One side of shuttle has pottery, ivory or bone piece. Donor info . came from woolen mill owned by run by Abraham Somes II and later by his sons Isaac and Lyman Somes. Lyman was the father of the donor.
