College of the Atlantic Campus, Bar Harbor, Hancock County, ME

College of the Atlantic (COA) is a private liberal arts college founded in 1969. COA awards bachelors and masters (M.Phil.) degrees solely in the field of human ecology, an interdisciplinary approach to learning. “The campus consists of 37 acres (15 ha) on Frenchman Bay, two organic farms, two off-shore island research stations, and a 100-acre (40 ha) protected area.…

”The majority of the [central] campus was purchased for $1 from the Oblate Fathers of Mary Immaculate Seminary, who used the site as a monastery.”(“College of the Atlantic” at Wikipedia: The Free Dictionary [ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/College_of_the_Atlantic : accessed 27 July 2025]).

Individual buildings and facilities are recorded separately on the extended campus.
