Anemone Cave Trail, Acadia National Park, Hancock County, ME
The Anemone Cave trail (ANP trail #83) is an easy, asphalt trail leading from the Schooner Head Overlook parking lot down to the shore of Frenchman Bay, with beautiful views of the bay and Schoodic Peninsula. The interior of the Anemone Cave can be accessed at low tide by a short, unmarked scramble down over rocky ledges. Access to the cave can be treacherous with slippery, wet footing. The National Park Service discourages visitation to the area to preserve this fragile environment.
