KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: That I, George B.
Dorr of Bar Harbor, Hancock County, Maine, in consideration
of one dollar and other valuable considerations paid by John
D. Rockefeller, Jr., of the City, County and State of New York,
the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, do hereby REMISE,
RELEASE, BARGAIN, SELL AND CONVEY, and forever QUIT-CLAIM unto
the said John D. Rockefeller, Jr.: his heirs and assigns forever,
one undivided half of a certain lot or parcel of land situated
in Mount Desert, Haneock County, Maine, bounded and described
as follows, to wit:-
Being all and the Bame land described as conveyed to
the the said George B. Dorr by Harvey E. Knowles, Trustee, by
deed dated September 4th,1930, recorded in the Hancock County,
Meine, Registry of Deeds in Vol. 630, Page 541, said land in
said deed being described as follows, to wit:-
"Beginning at the County Road at a stake and runs
southerly following said road three rods to the east line of
lot now or formerly owned by the heirs of Samuel Walls; thence
following said heirs line south four degrees east forty three
rods to the shore; thence following said shore northeasterly
twenty three rods to a stake; thence north twenty six degrees
west six rods to a stake; thence north eighty five degrees west
seven and one half rods to a fir tree; thence north two de rees
east thirteen and one half rods to a cedar tree; thence north
eight degrees west six rods to the first bound, being one and
one half acres more or less. The whole of said lot is described
as conveyed from Berilla B. Gott to Jas. H. Hopkins and Chas. B.
Partridge by deed dated Oct.16th,1886 and recorded in Book 209
Page 5 of the Registry of Deeds for Hancock County, Maine.
It is the purpose of this deed to convey the und ivided
half part of said lot which was conveyed to the said Chas.
B. Partridge in the deed above referred to, reserving however
the right of a landing for wood or lumber as was reserved in
that deed above referred to, said reservation being for the
benefit only of those persons to whom the reservation in
that deed was made."
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the same, together with all the
privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging, to him the
said John D. Rockefeller, Jr., his heirs and assigns forever.
AND I DO COVENANT with the said John D. Rockefeller,
Jr., his heirs and assigns, that I will SARRANT AND FOREVER
DEFEND the premises to him the said Grantee, his heirs and
assigns forever against the lawful claims and demands of all
persons, claiming by, through or under me.

of Mary Shute Lincoln, late of said Taunton, testate,
having on the tenth day of November, A.D.1931 obtained
license from the Honorable Arthur W.Patterson, Judge of
Probate within end for the county of Hancock and State
of Maine, to sell and convey at private sele the real
estate, hereinafter described, of the aid Mary Shute
Lincoln, for the a m of seventy-five dollars, the same
being an advantageous offer therefor and having agreeably
to the order and decree of said Court, given due notice
upon the petition for license to make such sale, and
having given the bond required by law, by virtue of the

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That I, Major
Martyn Hall Shute of the United States Army, in consid-
eration of one dollar and other valuable considerations,
paid by Helen L. Shute of Ellsworth, Hancock County, Maine,
the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, do hereby RE-
MISE, RELEASE, BARGAIN, SELL AND CONVEY, and forever QUIT-
CLAIM unto the said Helen L. Shute and her heirs and assigns
forever, eight thirty-sixths parts and all my right, title
and interest in and to one undivided half part of a certain
lot or parcel of land situated in MtlDesert, in said County
and bounded and described as follows, to wit:-
Beginning at the County Road at a stake, and runs
southerly following said road three rods to the east line of
lot owned now or formerly by the heirs of Samuel Walls then
following said heirs line south four degrees east forty three
rods to the shore; then following said shore northeasterly
twenty three rods to a stake; then north twenty six degrees
west six rods to a stake; then north eighty-five degrees
west seven and one-half rods to a fir tree; then north two
degrees east thirteen and one half rods to a cedar tree; then
north eight degrees west six rods to the first bound, being
one and one-half acres more or less.
Said one undivided half part of said lot is described
as conveyed from James H. Hopkins to Helen F. Shute by deed
dated April 16, 1897 and recorded in the Registry of Deeds for
Hancock County, Maine, in Book 334, Page 194.
Reserving however the right of a landing for wood or
lumber as was reserved in that deed above referred to, said
reservation being for the benefit only of those persons to whom
the reservation in that deed was made.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the same, together with all the
privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging, to her the
said Helen L. Shute and her heirs and assigns forever.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I, the said Major Martyn Hall
Shute and I, Marjory Shute wife of the said Major Martyn Hall
Shute joining in this deed as Grantor, and relinquishing and
conveying my right by descent and all other rights in the
above described premises, have hereunto set our hands and
seals this 29th

BE IT REMEMBERED that I, Mary Shute Lincoln, of
Taunton, in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, do make, publish,
and declare this my last will and testament, hereby revoking
all wills by me previously made.
After the payment of my just debts and funeral ex-
penses, I bequeath and devise as follows:
First. If I leave any child or children surviving me, I be-
queath and devise all my estate, both real and personal, legal
and equitable, over which I have any power of testamentary dis-
position, to my husband Leon E. Lincoln for his lifetime, and
after his decease to such of my children as are then living and
to the issue of any deceased child by right of representation,
If any of my said children are not then twenty-five years of age,
I direct that the shares of such as are under that age be held
and managed by a trustee until such children, respectively, reach
the age of twenty-five years, and that such portions of the in-
come and principal as the trustee may think necessary shall be
applied to their education and support. I request that such
person as my said husband may by his will nominate shall be
appointed as said trustee; and in case of failure upon his part
so to nominate a trustee, that the Probate Court appoint a suit-
able person.
Second. If I leave any child or children surviving me, and such
childor children and all their issue are deceased at the time of
the termination of the life estate of my said husband herein above
created, I bequeath and devise the remainder of my estate, after
the termination of my husband's life estate, to my brother Martyn
Hall Shute, if living, to him and his heirs and assigns forever;
and if he is not living, then in equal shares to his children and
to the issue of any deceased child by right of representation,
to them and their heirs and assigns forever. If at the time of
the decease of my said husband said Martyn Hall Shute and all of
his issue are deceased, I devise and bequeath the said remain-
der of my estate to my half-brother and half-sister, Arthur
Shute, Jr., and Helen L. Shute, in equal shares, to them and
their heirs and assigns forever.
Third. If I leave no child or children surviving me, I
devise to my half-brother and my half-sister above named, in equal
shares, to them and their heirs and assigns forever, al 1 my right,
title and interest in and to certain land and buildings in Ells-
worth, in the State of Maine, on Union River Bay and known as
Pleasant Beach.
Fourth. If I leave no child or children surviving me, I make
the following bequests, to wit:
To my cousin, Annah Peters Cushman, my Roman gold neck-
lace with cameo locket pe ndant.
To my cousin Louise Hall Cushman, my gold bracelet set
with diamonds and my gold army buckle; but in case said Louise
Hall Cushman be not living at the time of my decease, I bequeath
the said gold army buckle to my brother Martyn Hall Shute, if he
is living, and if he is not living, then to my half-brother Arthur
Shute, Jr.
To my cousin Mary Hall Cushman my baby plate of silver
marked with my name and date of birth.
To my cousin Margaret Thomson Hall, my ivory purse.
To my half-sister Helen Langdon Shute, my silver mug.
To my niece Marjorie Shute, my diamond ring which was
my mother's.
To Leonice Foster Caldwell, daughter of Lorenzo D.
Foster of Ellsworth, Maine, my gold watch and West Point fob.
To my aunt Mary Hall Cushman my black cameo pin, my
coral pin and my amethyst ring.
To my friend Abbie Severance, of Brookline, Massachusetts
my sapphire ring.

my silver mustard dish.
To Margaret Hugh Hall, wife of my uncle Henry H. Hall
my forget-me-not pin.
To my brother Martyn Hall Shute, all the wedding gifts
of our late mother.
To the wife of my brother Martyn, all my personal
clothing and furs, but if she does not survive me, then to my
aunt Mary Hall Cushman.
To my sister-in-law Lottie L. Field, my amethyst set.
To my sister-in-law Marjorie Shute, my mahogany tray.
To my sister-in-law Bernice Lincoln, my amethyst pin
and chafing dish.
To
my sister-in-law Nellie Lincoln Temple, my card
case and silver berry spoon.
To my sister-in-law Mildren Lincoln Davis, my pearl
handled knives.
To my sister-in-law Sadie Lincoln MacDougal, a cut glass
dish.
To my friend Edith C.. Bradley of Westport, New York,
my after-dinner coffee spoons.
Fifth. If I leave no child or children surviving me, I bequeath
and devise all my estate, both real and personal, legal and equit-
able, over which I have any right of testamentary disposition,
excepting those portions thereof enumerated, bequeathed and devised
in the third and fourth clauses of this will, to my husband, Leon
E. Lincoln, for his lifetime: and after his decease to my
brother Martyn Hall Shute, to him and his heirs and assigns
forever. If the said Martyn Hall Shute and all his issue are then
deceased, I bequeath and devise the said remainder, after my hus-
band's life estate, to my half-brother and half-sister, Arthur
Shute, Jr., and Helen L. hute, in equal shares, to them and
their heirs and assigns forever.
Sixth.
I do nominate and appoint my husband, Leon E. Lincoln
a
BOND
executor of this will, and request that he be exempt from
furnishing surety upon his official bond.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF I hereunto set my hand and in
the presence of three witnesses declare this to be my last will
and testament this twenty-fifth day of October in the year one
thousand nine hundred and twelve.

On this twenty-fifth day of October A.D. 1912, Mary
Shute Lincoln of Taunton, Massachusetts, signed the foregoing
instrument in our presence declaring it to be her last will;
and as witnesses thereof we three do now, at her request, in her
presence and in the presence of each other, hereto subscribe our
names.

We are probating the estate of Mary Shute Lincoln
for Mr. Loon E. Lincoln of l'assachusetts. It is
recessary to have a nominal bond in this estate. We
wrote Mr. Lincoln asking him to sign the bond and give
us the names of tno sureties in the State of Maine who
would act with him.
I am enclosing herewith copy of
note which I received from Mr. Lincoln.
