Graves all of Northeast Harbor, Mount Desert, Hancock County, Maine, in consideration of one dollar and other valuable con- siderations paid by John D. Rockefeller, Jr., of the city, county and state of New York, the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge, do hereby GIVE, GRANT, BARGAIN, SELL AND CONVEY, unto the said John D. Rockefeller, Jr., his heirs and assigns forever, a certain lot or parcel of land situated in said Northeast Harbor, bounded and described as follows, to wit:- Beginning in the center of the county road leading from the Sound District to the head of North East Harbor at a point in the north line of land of Asa Smallidge; thence following said County Road as it was first laid out northerly one hundred and thirty one rods (131) to a stone bound set in the ground on the east side of said road and on the northerly side of the nor thern. Junction of the said road as first laid out and of the road as now travelled; thence from said stone bound east by compass at this date to the westerly line of land of Thomas Manchester; thence following said westerly line southerly to the northeasterly corner of land of said Asa Smallidge ; thence following said Smallidges' north line westerly to the first mentioned bound, as containing fifty acres more or less.courses and distances/of 1896. Excepting however from the above described lot so much of said lot as has been previously conveyed as shown by deeds recorded in the Hancock County, Maine, Registry of Deeds.
