to the contrary. I understand no agreement was made in this case.

understood that the taxes were to be adjusted. If there is
any misunderstanding in regard to it and it is impossible for you
to do so on the basis of the Hood deal, I will authorize you
to deduct the amount of tax from the $2500. I do not think
this should be necessary as all the property that I haveever transferred
I have always made the adjustment as in the George Wood Case.
However, what ever thettis to be done on taxes, I leave that matter
wholly in your hands to do the best you can for me, deducting
my proportion or all and remit the balance.
Very truly yours,

Sent. 16, 1933.
Mr. George B.Dorr,
Bar Harbor, Maine.
Dear Mr. Dorr:
Some time ago you asked me to look into the
matter of a mortgage on certain of the Boven land, which
you once held.
The records show that Edward B. and Pamelia
Bowen mortgaged certain land to Charles H. Wood, on
March 9, 1910. The mortgage was in the sum of $12,500.
This mortgage was assigned by Charles II. Wood on March
16, 1910, to John A. Peters, who was the one who was
instrumental in your loan the $12,500.
The records
show that this mortgage was discharged August 8, 1910 to
Charles H. Wood by John A.Peters.
I have not looked into your old records to
see what you obtained in exchange for this discharge by
as soon as I have an opportunity I will do so. From
the records it shows that there is nothing due on the
mortgage.
Very truly yours,
