Group camping is available at Blackwoods and Seawall Campgrounds. Five sites at each
campground holding 15-20 people each, have been set aside for formally organized group
Group camping sites are not used for large families or groups of friends who wish to
camp together. All group campers should be aware of the following restrictions and
information:
--Group camping is only permitted in the group camping area. If the group camping
area is full, your request will not be honored for regular family-type sites.
--The maximum, consecutive length of stay for all groups will be seven (7) nights.
--The cumulative length of stay per organization, with different individuals
comprising the groups they reserve for, may not exceed forty-five (45) nights
per season.
--Two or three fire places and picnic tables are available at each group site.
Drinking water and restroom facilities are within easy walking distance.
--Reservations will be handled through the mail only.
--Group sites are available from May 15 through October 15 at Blackwoods and
from the Wednesday before Memorial Day to September 30 at Seawall.
Follow the instructions below and complete the enclosed Reservation Request Form to
apply for a group campsite at either Blackwoods or Seawall Campgrounds:
1.
Reservation requests must be received in person at Park Headquarters or post-
marked March 15th or later. Requests received or delivered prior to March 15th
will be returned without action. Telephone requests will not be accepted.
2. Complete the Reservation Request Form. If any part of the form is incomplete,
your request will not be processed! A11 information on the request form is
pertinent. Due to the high demand of campsites, you are more likely to receive
a reservation confirmation if you apply for alternate dates. "Departure date"
indicates the morning you actually leave the campground.

Do not send money with your request! When you receive a confirmed copy of your
reservation, it will indicate the amount of money owed. This fee is payable
upon arrival. Do not send in a deposit before you arrive. Acceptable means of
payment include cash and traveler's checks. PERSONAL CHECKS OR BUSINESS CHECKS
ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE.

Your confirmation copy must be brought with you and presented to the ranger
upon arrival.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are a school group meeting the definition below from the
Federal Recreation Fee Guideline (NPS-22), you may request a waiver of fees:

organized tours or outings conducted for education or scientific purposes
related to the resources of the area visited by bona fide institutions established
for these purposes."
Applicants for waiver of fees on this basis will be required to provide documentation
of their official recognition as educational or scientific institution; a statement
as to the purpose of their trip; and the resources involved. Requests for a waiver
of fees, including a copy of the itinerary on official letterhead, must be signed
by a Department Head or higher official, and submitted along with your request for
group camping. ALL REQUESTS FOR WAIVERS OF FEES MUST BE DONE IN ADVANCE!
