Hi Ron,
Member
As far as I can see, our sources do not reveal any personal information
Information
about the Trustees.

However, on looking closely through the volumes there might be some
(31)
additional information most likely along the lines of "Mrs Ward exhibited
two varieties of pear this week" or somesuch.

Dear Ms. Haney,
Thank you for researching the problem that I laid before you last
weekend. And so promptly!

On reviewing the fruit of your labor, it appears that neither the Dorr or
the Ward family in question were WCHS members. The other Ward
family was from central Massachusetts and not the Wards of Boston.
The 1880 reference to Mrs. Thomas Ward, a trustee for more than a
decade, holds promise.. This may have been the wife of George
Bucknam Dorr's cousin, Thomas Wren Ward of New York City. Given
your knowledge of these documents, do you think I might find some
associated address information threough a visit to your library?
Thanks!

Hi Ronald,
I did some checking around this morning and came up with a few
mentions Mrs. Ward, but not a Mrs. Charles Dorr:
WCHS Transactions
1845-1875 (end of book) Wards and Dorrs (Enos, fruit exhibitor)
1853 Artemas Ward member p. 91
1864 S. Ward & T. Ward, Shrewsbury, members, p. 124
1865 Thomas Ward, Shrewsbury, Trustee
1875 Miss Ella Ward (old endpaper book)
1875-1886 Artemas and Samuel Ward
1880 (old endpaper cloth book, Vault):
Mrs. Thomas Ward Trustee 1880 till 1891 (?)
Please let me know if you would like to drop by someday, or if
there is something else you would like me to look up. The
library is open Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday 10-4 and I am here
except for 7/24 and 7/26. I wasn't sure if Mrs. Dorr had family in
theis area, and if so, who they were.
Best,
Sukey
