Dr. Epp,
I have finished searching the Warren Magnuson papers for correspondence
with the other eight members of the visit with Superintendent Dorr.
I
found only a few letters from 1937, none of which mentioned the trip to Maine.

RE: Warren G. Magnuson Papers (fwd)
Dear Ms. Ness:
I am very appreciative of your speedy response and your diligence in checking the various
sites where Mr. Dorr might be mentioned. It is almost as useful to close a research door
as it is to find that it opens to unexpected findings.
However, I wonder whether there might be a discussion of this visit in any correspondence
with others who were in the Magnuson party: Congressmen Maas (MN), Congressmen Ferand and
Senator Green (RI), Congressmen Mott (OR), Congressmen Oliver and Brewster (ME),
Congressman Hamilton (VA), and Congressman Bates (MA)
I know that this is a very remote possibility but I would appreciate your effort in
checking these names against the Correspondence file. Thank You!

Dr. Epp,
Your question regarding the Warren G. Magnuson papers has been forwarded to me for reply.
I have checked the inventory to the Magnuson papers from the House of Representatives and
found no mention of George Dorr or Acadia National Park. I have checked the "D"
correspondence folders for 1937 and departmental correspondence with the NPS in 1937 and
found no Dorr correspondence. There are no diaries in the papers. I have also checked
the photographs for the 1930's. I believe I have checked the locations where the
information would have been filed and must conclude that the Magnuson papers don't have
the information you are seeking. The other major series in the papers relate to
legislation, speeches and committee files.
