Dear Mr. Schwarz,
National Park Service Historian Richard Quin suggested that I
contact you regarding assistance you might provide for my
research.
For the better part of the last year I have been investigating the
personal life and conservation activities of George B. Dorr, founder
and first superintendent of Acadia National Park. Quin's research has
focused on Dorr's administrative career. I have hopes that the first
published biography of Dorr will be a product of this inquiry.
Several weeks ago I travelled to Archives II for one 10 hour
exploratory visit, assisted by Quin who "showed me the ropes." At that
time I focused on Dorr's monthly reports, 1929-33, though I did dip
into several other files.
I hope to return in about six weeks for more extensive research.
Would it be possible for us to meet and for you to provide me with
some guidance?
With best wishes,
Ronald H. Epp, Ph.D.
