For the better part of the last year I have been investigating the personal life and conservation activities of George B. Dorr, founder and first superintendent of Acadia National Park. Quin's research has focused on Dorr's administrative career. I have hopes that the first published biography of Dorr will be a product of this inquiry. Several weeks ago I travelled to Archives II for one 10 hour exploratory visit, assisted by Quin who "showed me the ropes." At that time I focused on Dorr's monthly reports, 1929-33, though I did dip into several other files. I hope to return in about six weeks for more extensive research.
