Deposition Sanford vs Preble
STATE MAINE.
HANCOCK SS.
On the 26th, day of November A. D. 1898 personally appeared the
within named Joseph D. Phillips at the office of Geo. R. Fuller,
South West Harbor, town of Tremont in said county and having been first
sworn by me according to law then gave the foregoing deposition which
was written by me. The adverse party was notified to attend and did
attend. Said deposition is to be used in an action between Samuel C.
Sanford plaintiff and Wm. P. Preble defendant to be heard and tried in
the Supreme Judicial Court at a term thereof to be holden at
llsworth in the County of Hancock on the 3rd, Tuesday of January A.
D. 1899, The deponents residing in a town other than that inwhich the
trial is to be had is the cause of taking this deposition.

I Joseph D. Phillips of Tremont in the county of Hancock of law-
ful age, on oath depose and testify in answer to questions propounded
by L. B. Deasy Attorney for plaintiff.

Ans. Joseph D. Phillips, South West Harbor, Doctor of Medicine.
Q. 2: When and where did you graduate in Medicine?
Ans. Medical department of the city of New York in 1886.

3: How long have you been practicing medicine and where?
Ans. Twelve years at South West Harbor.
Q. 4: Have you during the past six years been called upon to treat
professionally Mr. and Mrs. Wm. P. Preble of Cranberry Island?
Ans. Yes.
Q. 5: How many times to the best of your recollections?
Ans. I think about 4 times, 3 or four I would not say certain.
Q. 6: Who has employed you to treat Mr. and Mrs. Preble?
Ans. Samuel Sanford.
Q. 7: Who has paid you for your treatment of them?
Ans. samuel Sanford.
Q. 8: As nearly as you can remember how much has he paid you?
Ans. Twelve dollars as near as I can remember
Q. 9: Have you had occasion to visit the house of Wm. P. Preble or to
pass the house at other times than at these professional visits and if
so how often?
Ans. Yes, I have visited the house and passed the house, I should say
I had 35 or 40 times in the last six years.
Q. 10: How many times have you visited the house other than at the
professional visits above mentioned?
Ans. Well; I think twice
Q. 11: In visiting or passing the house have you seen Samuel sanford
