Dear Sir:- I have your favor of the 13th. and regret very much that you did not follow my injunction, to go to sleep and rest easy, because I think you have cause to do so. I expected to send you for your own use copies of the deeds we passed with Sanford, and will do so as soon as the papers are recorded. You are aware that it takes a few days or a week to get the deed back from record. I will then explain the matter more in detail; but the explanation will be exactly as verbally explained to you on the spot. I think we made a very favorable settlement with Sanford. The suits are now out of Court, and there is no litigation pending to bother you. I notice you speak as if you did not at the time understand all the details. I thought that you were pretty clever about it at the time, and understood everything. You suggested something, which I had not thought of, viz., , that a right of way to the shore was necessary, or useful in connection with the house.
