Contaminated Harvest: Unraveling the Impact of PFAS in Maine Communities

This project explores the impact of PFAS contamination in Maine communities resulting from the historical use of biosolid fertilizers, which were officially banned in Maine in 2021. Using GIS analysis, the project examines Washington and Aroostook counties as case studies to highlight how PFAS move through agricultural systems and food chains, the potential health impacts on communities, and the importance of continued research into PFAS contamination and remediation efforts. This project is in ESRI GIS Story Map format.
