Memo annotated by Penne Laingen, June 17, 1980

The document is a letter to Katherine Keough from Pennie Laingen in which she copies Dick Stratton's to her. Stratton advises Pennie: down play concern for hostages during negotiations, give the American people something to do or they will create their own ideas on what to do, create distance with the State Depatment in order to be a viable group to recieve hostages once they are released, establish an office and get funds, have an advisor to the Regan and Carter campaigns, figure out what types of information different news organizations are interested in and play to that, meet with the U.N. instead of traveling around the world. 

Pennie writes some more thoughts to Pennie at the end: who to contact in an effort to get an office space, getting Harold Queen to write and article for Reader's Digest, pins as a fundraiser, delegation to Democrat and Republican committees. 

Also attached is a letter to Mrs. Muskie, Family, and Friends from Pennie explaining why she will not be at the Family Meeting in San Francisco, her hope after speaking with Richard Queen, thanks to Seretary Muskie in his efforts to return the hostages.
