Handwritten notes on the back of the photograph state: Sarah Somes, sister of John W. and daughter of John Somes, Jr. and Julia Kittredge, his wife. Card is marked: S. Towle with G.C. Gilchrest, 92 Merrimack Street, Lowell, Mass. Negatives Preserved. Further handwritten note at bottom of back: R.H.Hysom.
