Great Grandmother Hawes
Mrs. Hawes has dark hair parted in middle combed smoothly and fastened in back. Wears balck dress, fabric has bright sheen, wide lace collar with cutwork embroidery. Hands folded in lap over striped skirt. Fringed shawl wrapped over one arm. Man’s hand comes from outside the picture and holds her shoulder. Studio background . church steeple and tree limb.
