FORT TERRY MILITARY TRAINING CAMP FOR BOYS 42 Water Street Boston May 29 Merchander Savage Some time ago I sent you circulars descriptive of the Training Camp for Boys at Fort Terry, Plum Island, and a note signed by the New England Committee asking you if your Board 9. Trade would do anything as a body or as individuals to help defray the expenses of boys, recommended by school principals, but unable to go because they could not pay all the cost. As I have heard nothing from you I am writing again. We have a number of such applications for aid from boys who are recommended by reliable persons. The response to our appeal for aid sent to Chambers of Commerce, Boards of Trade, College Clubs and similar institutions has been rather slight. We hoped that there would be sufficient interest in the project to lead some men to offer their help.
