Proposed Buildings for the Fire Department, Bar Harbor, Me.

Ten (10)drawings in total. 2012 exhibit text: Bar Harbor Fire Station Bar Harbor, ME, 1910 Ink on linen The Gerrish Collection, MDI Historical Society The Fire Station is a very functional building with four arched openings for equipment and a functional tower for drying the hoses. The tower, unfortunately truncated in the 1950s, was the most striking element of the design giving the building a powerful presence on the town green. Observe the sign.off by the building committee on the elevation drawing. This large scale rendering of an entry canopy bracket for the Fire Station is a fine rendered detail. The brackets and canopy can still be appreciated today
