Case of Surveying Instruments
Used by Salem Town, surveyor, to survey Mount Desert Island. Small black case lined with printed paper. Contains nine sections for surveying instruments. Case contains . brass protractor, 2 brass dividers, 3 unidentified instruments. Hinged top broken and reattached with string. NOTE: by 2005, there appeared to be only 5 instruments in the case.
