Slate board for keeping track of sailboat racibng results
This is a medium.sized school slate. It measures 21 inches by 13 inches. It is framed in wood and has rounded corners. Each corner has a metal bracket bracing it. The back of the slate is wood too. There are numbers 1.12 along the left hand side. There are lined columns with headings written in cursive, for example, courses, winds and remarkes. Charlotte Singleton says it is a "Racing Results Board," presumably for sailboat racing.
