Trail begins in almost straight line from Dorr South Ridge trail and proceeds south through wooded area. This trail is wide open and easily recognizable almost the entire way and has been maintained by trail phantoms. There is little in the way of trail engineering. After passing through a thick spruce thicket (open) it crosses Otter Creek on some step stones. 100 yards from the creek crossing, trail becomes faint. There is one small wooden arrow near the beginning of this section. Around a windfall one can pick up recognizable trail again, which reaches an old field area that is growing in. Orange and/or blue flagging tape leads southwest along the edge of this opening, then trail turns abruptly west or west/northwest and is easily recognizable again. Can follow to Potholes Trail.
