Translations of Jonathan Fisher's Journals

"This book has been prepared by the Jonathan Fisher Memorial, Inc. through the cooperaton of the Blue Hill Public Library from handwritten notebooks in their possession. These notebooks were prepared by Mrs. Edith (Chase) Weren by translating and transcribing the original manuscripts of Rev. Jonathan Fisher. This task was undertaken in the 1930s and 1940s by Mrs. Weren to assist her sister, Mary Ellen Chase, in research of source material in preparation for writing her book, Jonathan Fisher, Maine Parson. Much of the original manuscript was then in possession of Fisher's grandson, Gaylord Hall, and much of what was avaiable was virtually unreadable as it was written in one of the shorthand codes invented by Fisher. Today many of these journals are a part of the collections of the Jonathan Fisher Memorial, Inc. and the William A. Farnsworth Library and Art Museum." Translations of Jonathan Fisher's Journals by Edith Chase Weren. 1795 - 1800. Photocopy of typed manuscript. Bound in a red binder.
