Pewter Plates
Three 18th century pewter plates. Donor is a descendent of Reverend Jonathan Fisher through his daughter Mary Fisher and husband Job Howland. The plates have descended in the family. In the late 1950s the same family donated a coverlet made by Katherine Avery Fisher (1959.004.001). Two plates are 9 inches in diameter. One plate is 8 inches in diameter. Each plate has been engraved at a later date. "1682. This plate belonged to Elizabeth White, married to William Avery of Dedham, August 29th, 1682. She died October 3rd, 1690." 9 inches in diameter. "Bethiah Metcalf, born Nov 15, 1715. Married to William Avery of Dedham, December 10th, 1741." 8 inches in diameter. "Katherine Avery, daughter of William Avery of Dedham, born August 31, 1746. Married to Jonathan Fisher, October 22, 1766. 9 inches in diameter.
