The Osborne Library houses the Museum's collection of
books, images, manuscripts. The book collection includes

pamphlets, trade catalogues, periodicals and newspapers,
government documents, broadsides and advertising
material. The image collection consists of paintings,
prints, photographs, insurance maps, architectural and
engineering drawings, and pictorial ephemera such as
postcards, stereocards and cloth labels. The manuscript
collection includes business records of textile and
machinery manufacturers, raw material dealers, dyeing and finishing firms,
commission merchants and selling agents, water power companies,
engineering and consulting firms, and trade and labor associations. Equally
important are the personal papers of researchers, inventors, educators,
workers, and managers associated with the industry.

The Osborne Library and three-dimensional collections are available
by appointment only.
